I am an art historian based in the UK specialising in Italian Renaissance art. I also have a particular interest in the history of perfume, cosmetics and medicine, especially in the Renaissance period. I have spent considerable time in Florence and Tuscany. I am married with two grown-up children and divide my time between my home in the UK and my holiday home in Tuscany.
I have given talks and held study days on art history topics in my local community over many years and have worked as a part-time tutor of art history in adult education. I also occasionally hold small group study days from my home. I have also written articles on art for a Home Counties/North London lifestyle magazine.
In Search of Annalena: A Life of Tragedy and Triumph in Renaissance Florence, is my first book, to be published in October 2020 and describes the life and legacy of the Renaissance noblewoman, Annalena Malatesta (please see the 'new book' page on this website).
